The Alexander Technique is taught in private lessons focusing on the everyday movements of standing, sitting, and walking. As you progress, we will add other activities to the lesson.

 

During the lesson, I use verbal instruction and hands-on guidance to help the student learn to recognize poor postural habits, release excess muscular tension, and achieve a better organization of the head to the neck and back.  This can result in better use of the body as a whole.

 

Since the Alexander Technique is a learning experience, not a treatment, the student is an active participant leaving each session with increased awareness and individualized weekly assignments.

 

I offer 30 and 45 minute lessons, as well as student and senior discounts. There is a reduced fee for purchasing lessons in sets of 5.
